Carlson, Kenneth Allen
Kenneth Allen Carlson, age 73 of Knoxville, Illinois died at 1:20 P.M. on Friday, January 11, 2013 at Heartland Health Care Center in Galesburg, Illinois.

He was born on February 21, 1939 in Kewanee, Illinois the son of Einar and Katherine Smith Carlson. He attended Wethersfield High School in Kewanee, Illinois where he played football. He married Carol (Johnson) Carlson on May 16, 1981 in Altona, Illinois. She survives of Knoxville, Illinois.

Surviving are his children: Debbie (Michael) Camey of Kewanee, Illinois and Joanne (Tim) Bennett of Kewanee, Illinois. Step Children: Cathy (John) Stromson of Abingdon, Illinois; Scott Carlson of Oneida, Illinois; and Lori (Jeff) Gardner of Knoxville, Illinois. Eleven grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. One brother: Milt (Mary) Carlson of Kewanee, Illinois. One sister: Kathy (Jim) Glover of Holden, Missouri. Many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter, and step-son: Kent.

He worked as a route salesman for Means Services and Knox Laundry for many years, and also sold cars at E & E Auto in East Galesburg, Illinois.

He was a NASCAR Fan. He enjoyed camping in his mobile home and staying at the Timberview Camp Grounds in Bushnell, Illinois. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Altona, Illinois, and attended Grace Lutheran Church in Knoxville, Illinois.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM - 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes in Knoxville, Illinois. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes in Knoxville, Illinois. The Rev. Michel D. Clark will officiate. Interment will be in the Woodhull Cemetery in Woodhull, Illinois. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Charity of the Donor's Choice.
