Singleton, Marjorie M.
Marjorie M. "Margie" Thompson Singleton, age 80 of Abingdon, Illinois died at 8:00 AM on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital, Galesburg, Illinois.

She was born on August 14, 1932 in Prairie City Township in Rural Prairie City, Illinois, the daughter of Robert and Idella Haffner Thompson. She attended Maple Grove School in Rural Prairie City, Illinois. She married Donald Still, then Ervin Beckner, and then Francis Singleton on April 3, 2009 in East Peoria, Illinois.

Surviving is a son: Ervie (Jacklin) Beckner of Abingdon, Illinois; step-son: Ronald (Kathy) Beckner of Bushnell, Illinois; one step-daughter: Rhonda (Fred) Coombs of Peoria, Arizona. One granddaughter: Angela Rose Beckner; five step-grandchildren: Heather Beckner, Chris Beckner, Mandie (Brent) Giblin; Molly Coombs, Robby Coombs; and one step great grandson: Austin Giblin. Four sisters: Evelyn (Bill) Beaird of Canton, Illinois; Frances Smith of Naperville, Illinois; Zelpha Kessler of Galesburg, Illinois; and Lois Extrell of Fort Worth, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Robert Thompson and one sister, Ester Still; two husbands and one step-grandson, Frederick Coombs, Jr.

She was of a member of the Cornerstone Church of the Rock of Peoria, Illinois. She worked for the former Gale Products in Galesburg, Illinois and the former Bluebell in Abingdon, Illinois. She loved her grandchildren and family.

Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at the Prairie City Cemetery in Prairie City, Illinois. Rev. Bob Hobdy will officiate. Memorials may be given to the Family. Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes & Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois is in charge of arrangements.
