Wilson, Roger R.
Roger R. Wilson, 69, of Monmouth, passed away at 5:25 p.m., Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at his home.

He was born on October 23, 1944 in Monmouth, and he is the son of Vera Kilpatrick. Roger was raised and educated in Monmouth, and attended Monmouth Public Schools. He married Allena Nichols on January 25, 1972.

Roger worked at Jefferson Smurfit (Smurfit Stone) in Galesburg, IL for 30 years. He enjoyed roller skating and spending time with his family.

Roger is survived by his ex-wife Allena Nichols Wilson of Monmouth, four daughters; Regina (Jim) Spears of Little York, IL, Jeanette (Kenneth) Price of Mississippi, Melanie (Jeff) Ainsworth of Little York, IL, Calena Wilson (Matt Swiler) of Monmouth, one son James (Michelle) Wilson of Kirkwood, IL. Nine granddaughters; Koleece Spears, Olivia Spears, Brittany Price, Valarie Wilson, Alecia Hawkins, Kristin Ainsworth, Kendall Sage, Miley Sage, and Braelynn Sage, eight grandsons; Jeffery Gaskill, Nick Spears, Mike Price, Bryan Wilson, Adrain Wilson, Skyler Goodwin, Jeff Ainsworth, Jr., and Carson Sage. Also surviving are several great grandchildren, four brothers; Glen (Linda) Wilson, Kenneth (Phyllis) Wilson, Allan (Pam) Wilson, all of Monmouth and Louis (Carolyn Gale) Wilson of Georgia, one step brother Roger (Pauline) Kilpatrick of Galesburg, IL., two sisters; Ella Hank and Karen Cassiday both of Monmouth, and several nieces and nephews.

Roger was preceded in death by his mother, three brothers, one step brother and two sisters.

A memorial service will be at 6:00 p.m., Monday, January 27, 2014 at the McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory in Monmouth. His family will be present to receive friends prior to the service from 4:00-6:00 p.m. A memorial fund has been established for either Hospice Compassus or to his family.
