John Robert Mercer, age 59, of Chicago, Illinois, died on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at 6:04 A.M. at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Illinois.
He was born on May 24, 1950 in Evergreen Park, Illinois, the son of William Parnel and Anna Mae Mutzbauer Mercer.
Surviving are:
Mother and Stepfather: Anna Mae and Leonard Gorski of Oak Run, Dahinda, Illinois; Sisters: Maureen (Victor) Mahnesmith of Gilson, Illinois; Abigail (Mike) Edgerton of Lily Lake, Illinois; Lenore (Al) Opal of Plainfield, Illinois; Brothers: William (Kathy) Mercer of Glen Ellyn, Illinois; Mark (Diane) Mercer of Hickory Hills, Illinois; Thomas (Pat) Gorski of Dahinda, Illinois; Several Nieces and Nephews.
Preceded in death by his father.
He was reared and educated in Chicago, Illinois attending St. Leo High School; St. Rita High School and Harper High School.
He was of the Catholic faith.
Cremation Rites will be accorded.
Memorial Services will be held on Sunday, February 7, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at the United Methodist Church in Dahinda, Illinois. Rev. Randy Douglass officiating.
There will be no visitation.
Inurnment will be held at a later date.
