Hood, Dorothy Mae Blair
Dorothy Mae Blair Hood, 100, of Monmouth, died 2:10 P.M. Thursday, February 11, 2010 at the Monmouth Nursing Home.

She was born April 13, 1909 in Washington, IA, the daughter of Tom and Gail (Bean) McGraw. She was raised and educated in Monmouth, graduating from Monmouth High School in 1928.

Dorothy married John A. Blair on Nov. 19, 1929 in Morrison, IL and he died Jan. 19, 1979. She later married Ralph Hood on Dec. 14, 1981 in Morrison, IL and he died March 12, 1988.

Dorothy was a homemaker. Dorothy and John farmed north of Monmouth her entire married life. She enjoyed spending time with her family, her church family and playing Bridge.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Monmouth for over 80 years and a devoted member of the Ruth Circle. She was also a 50 year member of the Warren County Home Extension.

Survivors include her daughter, Maxine (Don) Braselton of Roseville; 3 grandchildren, Marcia (Alan) Ebert of Roseville, Susan (Bernard) Eaves of Mt. Pleasant, IA and Ron (Christina) Braselton of Grand Rapids, MI; 4 great grandsons, Chad (Lindsay) Hunter, Bryce Eaves, Luke Braselton and Vincent Braselton; 4 great granddaughters, Sara Hunter, Jenny (Jim) Hood, Ashley Eaves and Grace Braselton; great great grandchildren, Dakota Wilson, Ailexa Hunter, Marlea Hunter and Abbey Hood; sister in law, Lucille McGraw of Davenport, IA; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, 1 brother and 1 sister,

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 15, 2010 at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth with Rev. Jon Sims of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Warren County Memorial Park, Monmouth. Friends may call Monday morning at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, where her family will be present one hour prior to the services.
