|Myrtle Sayrs Larson, 83, of 1674 Barefoot Rd Knoxville, IL passed away peacefully surrounded by family Sunday January 24, 2010 in Aberdeen Village Rehabilitation Center, Olathe, KS.
She was born April 11, 1926 in Olar, SC to James Arthur and Letha Mae Bessie Zissett Joyner. She married Melvin E. Sayrs in Charleston, SC. He preceded her in death in 1981. She latter married Ted Larson in Knoxville.
Surviving is a daughter Betsy (and Max) Utsler of Olathe, KS, a daughter-in-law Diana Sayrs of Williams Bay, WI, 3 grandsons Troy (and Kim) Squire of Eudroa, KS, Travis Squire of Cuba, MO and Joshua Squire of Olathe, KS, and a great-grandson Jon Charles Squire of Eudora, KS.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her son Jim Sayrs.
Myrtle and her husband Mel owned and operated Mel's Red and White Food Store in Knoxville for 30 years. She was especially proud of her three grandsons and the special joy in her life was her great grandson Jon Charles Squire.
Private family graveside service was Saturday January 30, 2010 in Knoxville Cemetery. Rev David Shreeves officiated the service.
