Iva E. Grice, 90, of Galesburg, died at 5:45 p.m. Monday, February 7, 2011 in Rosewood Care Center.
She was born September 16, 1920 in Galesburg, the daughter of Andy and Dollie Frakes. She married Claire R. Grice on September 28, 1946 in Rock Island, Ill. He preceded her in death on May 8, 2004.
She is survived by two sons, Roger (and Sandy) Scannell and Andy (and Patty) Grice, both of Galesburg, a daughter, Becky (and Tom) Legge of Galesburg, three grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Roger Todd Scannell, and a brother, Floyd Frakes.
Iva was a mother and a homemaker. She was always caring to people in her neighborhood and was thought of as a special mother to all.
Funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, February 11, 2011 in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Mrs. Eleanor Landon will officiate. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com. |
