Farmer, Donald
Don Farmer, 77, of Monmouth, died at 4:50 P.M. Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011at the Greater Peoria Specialty Hospital, Peoria, IL.

He was born July 8, 1933 in Waupaca, WI the son of Donald C. and Irene (Abbott) Farmer. He was raised and educated in Waupaca and graduated from Waupaca high School.

Don married Reva Lefler in Monmouth, IL on June 30, 1961 and she survives.

Don was a custodian for Monmouth Hospital, Monmouth College Athletic Dept. and later for Warren School District for 23 years before retiring in 1998. He enjoyed and was an accomplished golfer and bowler.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Monmouth and the Methodist Men's Club.

Surviving are his wife, Reva Farmer of Monmouth; daughter, Brenda I. (Steve) Toland of East Moline, Il; son, Rex (Leesa) Farmer of Monmouth; 5 grandchildren, Randy Farmer, Michael Farmer, Sarah Farmer, Kaitlyn Farmer and Ryan Farmer; one great granddaughter, Angel; sister, Margaret (Richard) Orr of Matteson, IL.; nieces and nephews.

His parents preceded him in death.

Memorial services will be 2:30 P.M. Sunday, February 13, 2011 at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth with Rev. Jon Sims of the First United Methodist Church of Monmouth officiating. Cremation has been accorded. Burial in Monmouth Cemetery will take place at a later date. Friends may call after 12:00 Noon on Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011 at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth where his family will be present from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the services. Memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church, Monmouth or the United Methodist Men's Heifer Project.
