Ortlieb, Eleanor
Eleanor Ortlieb, 73, of Galesburg, Ill., died at 8:24 a.m. Saturday, February 12, 2011 in Seminary Manor.

She was born March 30, 1937 in Antigo, Wis., the daughter of Otto and Sarah Kieper Hintz. She married Orlen Ortlieb on August 11, 1958 in Polar, Wis.

She is survived by her special friend, Neal Horton of Galesburg, five children, Tim (and Nancy) Ortlieb of Piqua, Ohio, Bonnie (and Don) Kraul of Hurst, Texas, Tom Ortlieb of Washington Court House, Ohio, Diana (and Pat) Fritzel of Keller, Texas, and Brian (and Stephanie) Ortlieb of Leesburg, Ohio, 14 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, four sisters, Grace Franklin of Moline, Ill., Joanne Hiestead and Arlene Soman, both of Antigo, Wis., and Carol Hoolsema of Marion, Wis., and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, and two sisters.

Eleanor was raised in Antigo, Wis. and graduated from high school there. She lived in Ohio for many years, before moving to Galesburg in 1977. She was a homemaker, spending time raising her family and cooking for them. She enjoyed crocheting. Eleanor was a member of Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285 Auxiliary in Galesburg.

Private family funeral will be Wednesday, February 16, 2011 in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in St. Peters Lutheran Cemetery, Antigo, Wis. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Compassus, Galesburg. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
