Trone, Lola M.
Lola M. Trone, 93, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011 at home with her children by her side. She was a devoted Wife, Mother and dedicated to the lord. She enjoyed reading the Bible and visiting with family and friends sharing her life stories with all.

She was born February. 26, 1917, in Vermont, the daughter of Warren and Rosa Derry. She married Robert E. Trone on Sept. 2, 1936, in Davenport, Iowa. Surviving her are her two daughters Marcella Henshilwood, Fairview and Clarsice Abbadusky (Keith) Fairview: two sons, Jack Trone ( Shannan) Princeville and Mark Trone (Bonnie) Galesburg, 18 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren and 8 great -great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, four sisters and three great-grandchildren.

She was reared in Vermont, Astoria area and lived in Cuba Illinois for many years. She lived 35 years in London Mills and in Rapatee for four years before moving to Galesburg. She worked at the Avon Nursing Home and retired from the State of Illinois Research Hospital in Galesburg Illinois and was a member of the AFSCME Union. Lola and Robert owned and operated London Mills Feed Store and Possum Bob's resale shop in London Mills. She was an Army veteran wife of World War II, when her Husband served in the occupation forces in Germany. She was a member of London Mills United Methodist Church, Rapatee Church and Cuba Auxiliary American Legion Post 533.

Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday February 23, 2011 in London Mills at the United Methodist Church with Rev. Swain, Rev. Newhall Officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm on Tuesday evening at the church. Burial will in East Midway Cemetery London Mills, Illinois Memorials may be made to the Galesburg Rescue Mission and Women's Shelter, London Mills United Methodist Church and the Rapatee Church.
