|Mrs. Georgia L. Swanson, 90, of 1384 N. Henderson St. Galesburg, Ill. died 7:45 a.m. Saturday, February 19, 2011 at her home.
She was born December 12, 1920 in Littleton, Ill. to Mart and Inez Stoneking Frakes. She married Walter C. Swanson August 6, 1954 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death November 30, 1990.
Surviving are two sons Larry (and Madelyn) Winchel of Waldo, Fla. and Ervin (and Marilyn) Winchel, Jr. of Galesburg, a daughter Susie (and Tom) Campbell of Galesburg, a brother Ronnie (and Stella) Frakes, nine grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
Georgia worked for Osco Drugs in the 1950's and then in the cosmetic department of Walgreens in the 1960's and 1970's both in Galesburg. She later worked for Maytag Manufacturing Corporation where she retired. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Galesburg. She loved to play Yahtzee and Canasta. She enjoyed sewing and working on the cryptograms. She loved her angel collection and she made the best Lemon Lush dessert.
Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. Tim Anderson will officiate. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at the chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Galesburg. Memorials can be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Altona.
