|Irene M. Semelroth, 61, of Galesburg, died at 9:54 a.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at home.
She was born January 10, 1951 in Springfield, Ill. the daughter of Charles and Margaret Miller Beard Sr. She married Daryle Semelroth on May 12, 1973 in Biggsville, Ill.
She is survived by her husband, Daryle; her mother, Margaret Beard of Bardolph, Ill.; a brother, Charles Beard Jr. of Stronghurst, Ill.; a sister, Darlene Tomey of Bardolph, Ill.; her two best friends, Bonnie Swigart and Cheryl Cole; and numerous nieces and nephews that she is close to. She was preceded in death by her father.
Irene was a sewing machine operator for Smoler's Fashions in Monmouth for six years. She was a homemaker. She graduated from Stronghurst High School in 1969. She had lived in Galesburg since 1983. Irene was a member of the East Galesburg Community Chapel and the Military Family and Friends Support Group. She volunteered her time with the Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285. She really enjoyed spending time with her friends at the river boat casinos with her friends playing cards.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday, February 20, 2012 in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. Milton Marquith will officiate. Visitation will be 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at the chapel.
