|Billy P. Nash, 77, of Galesburg died at 5:45 a.m. Thursday, February 2, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born May 9, 1934 in Abingdon, Ill. the son of Paul J. and Fern E. Powell Nash. He married Gladys A. Kempher Robinson on August 10, 1957 in Galesburg. She preceded him in death on November 1, 2008.
He is survived by three sons, William F. (Linda) Robinson of Warsaw, Ill. and Robert L. Robinson and James A. Nash, both of Galesburg; three daughters, Linda Kiely of Galesburg, Debra A. (Mark) Langley of Moline, Ill. and Barbara J. (Steven) Hiatt of Galesburg; one sister, Lois Winterbottom of Rock Island, Ill.; one sister-in-law, Earlene Nash of Humansville, Mo.; one daughter-in-law, Debbie Nash of Wataga, Ill.; 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a son, and a brother.
Billy served in the US Air Force from 1953-1957.
He was a mechanic for Burlington Northern Railroad for 43 years, retiring in 1995. He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1952. He was of the Methodist faith.
Funeral services are scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday, February 4, 2012 in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. Bill Coley will officiate. Visitation will be 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the chapel.
