Bent, Donald K.
Donald K. Bent, 81, of Yates City, Ill. died at 8:12 a.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2012 in OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, Ill.

He was born October 24, 1930 in Yates City, Ill. the son of Chester and Lucille Thurman Bent. He married Barbara J. Williams on June 17, 1955 in Galesburg, Ill. She survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Terrill Lee (Stacey) Bent of Bridgeton, Maine, Tracy K. Bent of Fort Myers, Fla., and Timothy L. (Anne) Bent of Roscoe Ill. (whom is the owner of Cronies Grill, of which Donald was the number one supporter); one daughter, Toni Rae Miller of Yates City, Ill.; two sisters, Joanne Bonnema of Mt. Home, Ark and Letta Belle Britton of Monmouth, Ill.; 14 grandchildren, Kristie, Kari, Kelly, Kristen, David, Cindi, Bri, Dani, Haley, Greggie, Rachel, Timmy Jr., Joe and Andie and five great grandchildren, Brandon, Jenna, Will, Solana, and Allanah; and his aunt, Irene Moon of Peoria, Ill. Donald is preceded in the by his parents; three brothers, Otis, Gene and Jimmy Bent; and one sister, Betty Lou Goodwin.

He served in the US Air Force for four years serving during the Korean Conflict.
He worked as an assembler for Caterpillar for 17 years, retiring April 1, 1992. Donald loved to go to the casino boats. He enjoyed being with his wife, children, grandchildren and his best buddy his dog ''Tiny''.

Graveside services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Monday, February 20, 2012 in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens with Military Rites by Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285. Rev. Paul Dinges will officiate. Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, February 19, 2012 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to establish a memorial fund at a later date. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
