|Dale Lewis McKahan, 75, of East Moline, Illinois died at 12:20 P.M. Sunday, February 19, 2012 at the East Moline Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in East Moline, IL.
He was born September 30, 1936 in Alexis, Illinois the son of Chauncy "Chuck" and Maxine (Johnson) McKahan. He was raised and educated in Monmouth, Illinois.
Dale married Alice Leary in Monmouth on July 26, 1958.
Dale worked at International Harvester as a machinist in East Moline for over 31 years, retiring in 1991. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.
Dale served with the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of the East Moline VFW.
Survivors include his daughter, Teresa (David) Lyngholm of Davenport, IA; 4 grandchildren, Jennifer (Tim) Sawyer of East Moline, Jami (Murphy) Dugan of Sun Prairie, WI, Tobey (D.J.) Rhodes of Moline and Ben Womack of Davenport, IA; 6 great grandchildren, Justin, Ashley, Airian, Anthony, Alton and HayLee; 1 step-brother, J.D. (Mary) Upton of Monmouth; 2 sisters, Janet (Albert) Jenkins of Rusk, TX and Connie Gordon of Lufkin, TX; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Wed. Feb. 22, 2012 at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth. Burial with Military Honors will be in Gerlaw Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth where his family will be present one hour prior to the services. Memorials may be given to Hospice Compassus.
