Pauline Johnson, 87, of Galesburg, died at 1 a.m. Monday, February 20, 2012 at home.
She was born February 17, 1925 in Warren County, Tenn., the daughter of Frank and Oshia Christian Clendenon. She married Edwin L. Johnson on November 19, 1956 at the First United Methodist Church in Galesburg.
She is survived by her husband, Edwin; a daughter, Ronda Beth Richardson of Red Bay, Ala.; three granddaughters, Karla Selser, Beth Bennett, and Heather VanNest; a great grandson, Zachary Bennett; a great granddaughter, Leslie Dawn Dykeman, two great-great granddaughters; and two great-great grandsons. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Pauline had worked as a checker at the former A & P Grocery Store in Galesburg. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Pauline enjoyed quilting and was an award winning quilter. She also enjoyed raising flowers and gardening.
Graveside service will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday, February 23, 2012 in Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Lee Johnson will officiate. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com. |
