Conrad, Kathryn Anne
Kathryn Anne "Kitty" Conrad, age 63 of 607 N. Fearing Ave., Abingdon, Ill. died at 6:30 am Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at the Care Center of Abingdon after her brave battle with cancer.

She was born on September 7, 1948 in San Angelo, Texas, the daughter of Perry Thomas and Anna Maxine (Johnson) Bradshaw. She married Christopher G. Conrad on February 9, 1968 in Norfolk, Virginia.

Kitty is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth "Beth" (and Kirt) DeJaynes of Abingdon; two grandsons, Matthew and Joseph DeJaynes; her siblings, Kathy Busick of Gloucester, Virginia, Keith (and Diane) Bradshaw of Salem, Virginia, Kevin Bradshaw of Greensboro, North Carolina and Karen Williams of Virginia Beach, Virginia. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She graduated from Maury High School in Norfolk in 1966. She worked as the office manager for Tarbutton Associates Inc. in Virginia Beach for over forty years, retiring in April of 2010 due to her health. She had lived in Abingdon the past two years with her daughter and family.

Her hobbies included playing poker, pool, computer games, spending time with her grandsons and eating fresh seafood.

Beth would like to thank Dr. McClean and his staff and all the nurses at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg and at the Care Center of Abingdon for taking good care of her mother.

Cremation will be accorded. As Kitty requested, no services will be held. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association in care of Elizabeth DeJaynes, 607 N. Fearing Ave., Abingdon, IL 61410.
