|V. Todd Courson, age 50 of Rapatee, died Sunday morning, February 5, 2012 at home.
He was born on May 13, 1961 in Galesburg, the son of David H. and Nancy Lou (Peterson) Courson.
He is survived by three daughters, Amber Courson (and fiance', Eric Larsen) of Abingdon, Whitney Courson of Galesburg and Makayla Courson of Maquon; three grandchildren, Raelynn Hobby, Elijah Hobby and Ethan Larsen; his father, David Courson of Galesburg; three brothers, Kevin of Texas, Cary of Washington and Dustin of Williamsfield, Illinois; one sister, Julie of Decatur.
He was preceded in death by his mother and one brother, Rory.
Todd grew up on the family farm. He graduated from Williamsfield High School in 1979. He worked the farm crew for a mining company near Middlegrove, then worked at the Farmington Wilbert Vault Company, and later worked at the Lopeman Elevator in Yates City. He currently owned and operated Conlon's Garage in Rapatee, where he enjoyed helping people and spending time with his friends.
His hobbies included his love for cars, fishing, cutting fire wood, being with friends and family and playing with his grandkids.
He was a member of the Good Ole Boys Club.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, February 10, 2012 at the
Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Renee Hart will officiate. Cremation will be accorded following the service. The celebration of Todd's life will continue following the service at Conlon's Garage in Rapatee. Friends may call after 2:00 pm Thursday at the chapel. The family will be present from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
