Blucker, Kenneth R.
Kenneth R. Blucker, 77, of Wataga, Ill., died at 5 a.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2012 in Seminary Manor.

He was born June 1, 1934 in Galesburg, the son of Elon and Virginia Borg Blucker. He married LueWella G. Elwood on August 10, 1957 in Chicago.

He is survived by his wife, LueWella; two sons, Kenneth L. Blucker of Wataga and Steven E. Myers of Kotzebue, Alaska; three daughters, Beverly (and Paul) Bledsoe, Gail (and Danny) Wade, and Cheryl Woodrow, all of Galesburg; 10 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Ken was a supervisor at the former Maytag Corporation for 44 years, retiring in 1996. He graduated from Galesburg High School and lived in the Galesburg area his entire life. He was a member of First Lutheran Church.

Ken served in the United States Marine Corps from 1953 to 1956 during the Korean Conflict. He was a member and past commander of Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285. He was also a past commander of the American Legion District #15.

Ken enjoyed fishing, camping, and riverboat gambling. He enjoyed all Chicago sports teams, including the Bears and the Cubs. Ken especially loved spending time with his family and grandkids.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday, February 13, 2012 in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. Al Beck will officiate. Military rites will also be provided by Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the chapel. Cremation will be accorded following the funeral with private family burial at a later date in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285.
