Norman "Norm" L. Boston, 61, of Galva, passed away at 4:40 AM, Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 9 at Rux Funeral Home in Galva. Tony Gaff will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM, Friday, February 8 at the funeral home. Burial will in Galva Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded by the Galva Fusiliers. Memorials may be directed to a memorial fund for his children.

He was born June 5, 1951 in Kewanee, the son of Merle H. and Erma H. (Carr) Boston. He married Paula A. Rollins on August 12, 1978 in Galva. She survives, as do a daughter, Tessa Boston of Galva but currently attending St. Louis University, a son, Nathan Carlson of Galva, three brothers, Gary (Diane) Boston of Lakeland, FL, Raymond (Karen) Boston of Bettendorf, IA and Dwren (Dawn) Boston of Galva and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Arthur LeRoy and a sister, Donna Milton.

Norm graduated from Galva High School in 1969 and had attended Black Hawk East. He served his country in the National Guard Army Reserves from 1974-78. He had worked for Boston Trucking, Fahnstrom's Clothing, Brown's Shoes in Kewanee, Norm's Shoes, Welch Accounting, Kewanee Motors and lastly for Dixline Corp. where he was for 27 years. He was a member of the Galva City Council since 2004 and was a 3rd Ward Alderman. He was also a member of the Galva Youth Baseball Association, Galva American Legion, Galva Zoning Board, Galva Arts Council, Galva Athletic Boosters and had been a Galva High School Football statistician.
