Howard, Robert E.
Robert E. "Cobo" Howard, age 75 of East Galesburg, Illinois died at 8:25 P.M. on Friday, February 1, 2013 at his home in East Galesburg, Illinois.

He was born on August 2, 1937 in Truro Twp. Knox County, Illinois the son of Frank S. and Mary L. Morgan Howard. The attended and graduated from Williamsfield High School in Williamsfield, Illinois. He married Redith Whittles on October 5, 1958.

Surviving are three sons: John Howard of Knoxville, Illinois; Rex (Sue) Howard of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; and Walter Howard of Wataga, Illinois. Four grandchildren: Josh Flemming; Rex Howard; LaCresha Howard and Robert Howard. Eight great-grandchildren. One brother: Frank (Kathy) Howard of Knoxville, Illinois. He was preceded in death only by his parents.

He was employed by for the former Maytag Corp. in Galesburg, Illinois as a warehouse man for 31 years. He serviced in the United States Army. He was a member of the Knoxville Masonic Lodge #66 A.F. & A.M. of Knoxville, Illinois, and was currently holding the office of Marshall. He was a member of the Consistory and the Shrine. He enjoyed the outdoors, trap shooting, duck hunting, and fishing. He liked to watch movies.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes in Knoxville, Illinois, with Masonic Services being held at 8:00 P.M. by the Knoxville Pacific Lodge #66 A.F. & A.M. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes in Knoxville, Illinois, with Military Rites following the services. Rev. Milton Marquith will officiate. Interment will be held at Trenton Cemetery in rural Dahinda, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the East Galesburg Community Chapel in East Galesburg, Illinois.
