|Ronald E. "Fish" Quinn, Sr., 73, of 107 W. Givens St. died at 11:15 am Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at his home.
He was born on September 19, 1936 in Abingdon to Jesse and Elsie (Burns) Quinn. He married Karen Lithander Keith on October 12, 1963 in Abingdon.
"Fish" is survived by his wife Karen; two daughters, Ronda (and Ronald) Spicher of Galesburg and Sherri (and Danny) VeNard of Kewanee; two sons, Ronald Eugene "Rock" Quinn of Galesburg and Thomas L. (and Debbie) Keith of Abingdon; 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Rodger (and Dixie) Quinn of Abingdon, Jack (and Donna) Quinn of Cameron, and Tom Quinn of Abingdon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Stella Louise Quinn, one brother Jesse "Jake" Quinn and two sisters-in-law, Donna Quinn and Waneta Quinn.
He had lived in Abingdon all his life. He was a supervisor at Admiral/Maytag factory for 30 years retiring on June 16, 1986. He was a member of the Abingdon Christian Church. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal Baseball fan and started the Abingdon Golf League. He loved music and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm Friday, March 12, 2010 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Cremation will be accorded following visitation. Graveside service will be at 1:00 pm Saturday, March 13, 2010 at the Abingdon Cemetery with Mrs. Eleanor Landon officiating.
