Anderson, Roger R.
Roger R. Anderson, Sr., 70, 121 W. Simmons St., Galesburg, died at 11:35 a.m. Monday, March 15, 2010 at home.

He was born June 22, 1939 in Galesburg, the son of Elwood and Harriet Virginia Reed Anderson. He married Sally Jo Rutledge on June 27, 1964 in Galesburg. She preceded him in death on July 16, 1994.

He is survived by a son, Roger R. (and Alicia) Anderson, Jr. and a daughter, Angela J. (and Marvin) Masters, both of Galesburg, six grandchildren, one great granddaughter, five brothers and 10 sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a son, Michael in 1970, a grandson, Michael Masters in 1986, two brothers, Gary and Timmy, and a sister, Sara.

Roger was a foundry worker for over 30 years at Galesburg Malleable and then Aluminum Castings. He flew homing pigeons, enjoyed fishing, and was a sports fan of the Packers, Braves, and the Tar Heels.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday in East Linwood Cemetery. Rev. Ron Scarlett will officiate. Visitation will be 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. Friday at HinchliffPearson--West Galesburg Chapel.
