Stoddard, Lois O.
Lois O. Stoddard, age 91, of Delong, Illinois formerly of Knoxville, Illinois died on Sunday, February 28, 2010 at 1:30 P.M. at Cottage Hospital in Galesburg, Illinois.

She was born on April 23, 1918 in Knox County, Illinois, the daughter of Ora Benton and Isal O. Breece King.

She married Kenneth E. Davies on January 29, 1938 in Knoxville, Illinois.

She later married John Stoddard on April 16, 1954 in Galesburg, Illinois.

Surviving are:

Daughters: Ruth Ann (Kenneth) Lumberry of Delong, Illinois, Karen (Jack) Moore of Williamsfield, Illinois, Joyce (Tom) Bell of Pearland, Texas, Rosemary (Glen) Miller of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Peggy Youngers of Clearwater, Kansas and Lois Jean (Clyde) Raible of Rio, Illinois

Sons: Brian (Linda) Davies of Maquon, Illinois, John (Connie) Davies of Delong, Illinois, Warren (Judy) Davies of Knoxville, Illinois and Marc (Connie) Stoddard of Chino Valley, Arizona

Several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren

Stepdaughter: Darlene (Larry) Snyder of Monmouth, Illinois

Sister: Margaret Louise Anderson of Galesburg, Illinois

Preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; stepson: Clark Stoddard; and two grandsons: Darren Youngers and Anthony Wayne Stoddard

She was raised and educated in Knoxville, Illinois attending Sunnyside Grade School and graduating from Knoxville High School in 1935. She attended Brown's Business College in Galesburg, Illinois.

She worked at Admiral Corporation, Division of Maytag in Galesburg, Illinois for 30 years, retiring as an inspector. She also worked as a waitress at the former Junction Restaurant; Blue Bell in Abingdon, Illinois; and ran a taxi-cab service in Knoxville, Illinois.

She was a member of the Knoxville United Methodist Church; United Methodist Women; Knoxville Women's Club; Knox County TRIAD and former member of the New Horizons.

She enjoyed reading and traveling, including Australia and Hawaii.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at the Hurd Hendricks Funeral Home and Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois. Revs. F. Jan Bengtson and Robert Herath officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Hurd Hendricks Funeral Home in Knoxville, Illinois. Burial in Knoxville Cemetery in Knoxville, Illinois.
