Craig, Don
Abingdon Don R. Craig, 65 of 126 Knox Road 400N died at 12:07 am Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.

He was born on July 8, 1945 in Galesburg, the son of Nelson and Ethel (Chapman) Craig. He married Sue Morrison on June 19, 1970 at Christian Church in Abingdon.

Don is survived by his wife, Sue; two daughters, Stacy (and Chris) Nagel of Abingdon and Kelly (and Demetrius Edwards) Craig of Peoria; six grandchildren, Dakota Nagel, Maleaha Nagel, Denali Craig-Edwards, Dyricus Edwards, Destini Edwards and Derria Edwards. He is also survived by two brothers-in-law and nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Peggy Lankford.

Don lived in the Abingdon area since 1950 and graduated from Abingdon High School in 1963. He was drafted into the Army and served from March of 1965 until September of 1967 and was stationed in Germany. He worked at Butler Manufacturing in Galesburg as a welder for 40 years retiring on October 1, 2003.

He enjoyed attending the many sporting events to watch his daughters and grandchildren.

Cremation will be accorded. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, March 12, 2011 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Rev. Paul Dinges will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday at the chapel.

Memorials may be made at the chapel to the Don Craig Memorial Sports Fund or in care of Abingdon Banking Center, 805 N. Monroe St., Abingdon, IL 61410. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
