Catherine "Kay" Brock, 92, of Galesburg died at 1:12 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2011 at her home.
She was born April 10, 1918 in New Hampton, Iowa the daughter of Arthur and Stella Kepler Kendall. She married Claude "Bill" Brock on February 8, 1940 in Kahoka, Mo. He survives.
Also surviving is a son, D. Joe Brock of Galesburg; a daughter, Mary Sullivan of Galesburg; one sister, Cecelia Rodriquez of Davenport, Iowa; three grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Penny Sullivan on September 27, 2009, two brothers and a sister.
Kay worked as a nurse for 16 years. She was a member of the Covenant Church and the Covenant Women. She also volunteered for the Cottage Hospital Service Guild.
A private family graveside service will be held Monday, March 21, 2011 in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Covenant Church. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com. |
