McVey (Poole), Lorraine "Muff"
Lorraine Muff K. (Poole) McVey, 80 formerly of Galesburg, IL, Oquawka, IL and Delray Beach, FL, died at 2:17 a.m. Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Hawthorne Inn, Galesburg.

Muff was born in Chicago on February 3, 1931 the daughter of Clarence J. and Dorothy (Jones) Poole. Following her marriage to James P. Benbow, the father of her children, she married Richard F. McVey on June 30, 1996. He preceded her in death on January 22, 2010. Muff is survived by her three sons, James P. (Brenda) Benbow of Iron Mountain, MI, Stephen B. (Elizabeth) Benbow, and Brian J. (Orinda) Benbow both of Galesburg; two daughters, Deborah P. (Michael) DeForest of Galesburg and Barbara B. (Richard) Powell of Tulare, CA; a brother, Harry R. Poole of Mercer Island, WA; and a step daughter, Sally McVey, Monmouth. She is also survived by her grandchildren, James P. Pres, Cole, and Luke Benbow; Noah and Heidi Benbow; Eric Henderson and Ann Boyden, R.J. (Jennifer) Mitchell, Amanda and Rick Powell; and her great grandchildren, Scott and Matthew Boyden and Jacob and Kelsey Mitchell, a step grandson Collin Stewart; a niece and nephews.

Muff had been involved in several clubs over the years including the Amondata and Cugajanes. She had served on the board and been a volunteer at St. Marys Hospital. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and numerous catholic charities. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, and entertaining, but most of all she loved being a homemaker and spending time with her family.

A memorial service will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday March 26, 2011 at Watson Funeral Home, with Rev. Msgr. Ernest Pizzamiglio officiating. Burial will follow in St. Josephs Cemetery, Galesburg. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service Saturday at Watson Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family for a memorial to be designated later.
