|Betty M. McCrery, 91, of Monmouth, died at 7:50 A.M. Saturday, March 26, 2011 at the Courtyard Estates, Monmouth.
She was born July 3, 1919 in Warren County, Illinois, the daughter of Chauncey and Mildred (Peterson) Boggs. He was raised and educated in the Monmouth area and graduated from Monmouth High School in 1937.
Betty married D. Bruce McCrery in Iowa on March 15, 1940 and he preceded her in death on December 22, 1989.
She was a homemaker. She and Bruce farmed north of Monmouth. She enjoyed her family and also enjoyed crafts, gardening and sports and was an avid Cubs fans.
Betty was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Monmouth where she had taught Sunday School for a number of years and was a member of its Ruth Circle. She had also been a member of the Warren County Home Extension.
Her family includes one daughter, Lynn (Arley) McGill of Monmouth, one son-in-law, Kerry Brunette, grandchildren, Scott McGill, Bret McGill, Aaron McGill, Amanda McGill and Meghan (Bob) Rogers, one great grandson, Noah, along with nieces and nephews.
Her parents, husband, one daughter, Martha Brunette and one sister, Marian Hoyt, preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth with Rev. Jon Sims. Burial will be in Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, where her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be left for the First United Methodist Church or the Pancreatic Action Network.
