Saline, Sterlling
Mr. Mr. Sterling G. Saline, 76, of 180 Potawatomi Rd., Galesburg, Ill. died at 11:44 a.m. Sunday, March 27, 2011 at his home.

He was born January 10, 1935 in Victoria, Ill. to Carl and Helen V. Gustafson Saline. He married Marilyn A. Milroy April 4, 1954 in Victoria, Ill. She survives.

Also surviving is a son, Roger B. Saline of East Galesburg, Ill., two daughters, Jean A. (Scott) Kirk of River Forest, Ill. and Cathy J. (Gary) Swanson of Hector, Ark., a brother, John Jack A. (Jeane) Saline of Rio, Ill., eight grandchildren, Tyler Kirk, Allison (Ryan) Babiuch, Spencer Kirk, Carter, Marianne, Sarah (Brian) Gaines, Amanda (Marc) Osborne and Laura (Rico) Mulder and six great grandchildren, Tanner Gaines, Addison and Sienna Osborne and Teegan, Grayson and Bentley Mulder.

Sterling was a farmer for 58 years in partnership with his brother Jack. He graduated from R.O.V.A. High School in 1953. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Galesburg and past president of the Knox County Pork Producers. He served on the Rio Town Board, Rio Presbyterian Church Board, U.S. Meat Export Federation from 1991 to 1992, Illinois Corn Marketing Board from 1986 to 1992 and the U.S. Feed Grain Board from 1991 to 1992. He was a member of Sun Rise Rotary and was a Paul Harris Fellow, First Midwest Bank Advisory Board, St. Marys Foundation Council, Soangetaha Country Club, and Knox County Farm Bureau. He loved flying and playing golf, traveling and visiting his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, April 2, 2011 at First United Methodist Church. Rev. Marilyn Anell will officiate. Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Private burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg. Memorials may be made to OSF St. Mary Medical Center.
