Patricia J. Steller, 87, of Galesburg died at 10:50 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2011 in Rosewood Care Center.
She was born July 22, 1923 in Galesburg, Ill. the daughter of Edward and Irene Munson Mitchell. She married Charles “Ed” Steller on July 2, 1944 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on December 4, 1990.
She is survived by four sons, Mitchell E. (Beckie) Steller of Poway, Calif., Richard (Johnna) Steller and John (Sherry) Steller, both of Galesburg and Robert (Sandra) Steller of Yorkville, Ill., a daughter, Tricia (Peter) McIlwee of Darien, Ill., and 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Patricia worked as the Administrative Secretary for the Joliet School District for 16 years. She graduated from Galesburg High School in 1941. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Church Circle. She was a volunteer for OSF St. Mary Medical Center. She was a member of the Round Table Club and the Women’s Club. She was an avid bridge player and was a member of the Lake Bracken Bridge Club.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church. Rev. Dr. Tom Larsen will officiate. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel.
