|Harold M. Larson, 84 of Galesburg, Ill. died 3:07 a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Knox County Nursing Home, Knoxville, Ill.
He was born March 18, 1927 in Galesburg to Harold M. and Florence Kane Larson. He married Betty E. Jordan May 17, 1953 in Galesburg. She preceded him in death October 21, 2011.
Surviving are two sons, Thomas D. Larson of Galesburg and Ric L. (and Alice) Larson, of Knoxville; a daughter, Sandra Kay (and Glenn) Olson of Glendale, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Martin Larson and his sister, Marlene Brown.
Harold was a superintendent for the City of Galesburg in the cemetery department for 28 years. After his retirement, he worked for Hinchliff-Pearson-West in Galesburg. He graduated from Galesburg High School. He was a World War II Army veteran. Harold was a member of First United Methodist Church, American Legion and was a 50 year member of the Alpha Masonic Lodge, all in Galesburg.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. Melva England will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Military Rites will be conducted by Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285. Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church.
