|Margaret Eager, 91, of Galesburg, Ill. died at 3:55 a.m. Monday, March 5, 2012 in Rosewood Care Center.
She was born May 30, 1920 in Aledo, Ill. the daughter of Glenn S. and Ethel Brown Gilliland. She married Everett R.D. Eager in Memphis, Mo. on April 12, 1941. He preceded her in death on January 10, 2009.
She is survived by her son, James (Diane) Eager and her daughter Yvonne (Bill) Roos, both of Galesburg; six granddaughters and five great grandsons and eight great granddaughters. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, one sister and one great granddaughter.
Margaret was the manager for Kirlin's Andes Candies for 20 years, retiring in 1979. She graduated from Aledo High School in 1938. She also received her teacher's certificate from Western Illinois University. She was a member of the First Christian Church and a soloist for the church choir. Margaret was a member of the Altrusa Club. She loved to square dance.
Memorial services are scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 8, 2012 at the First Christian Church. Rev. M.J. Fitch will officiate. Visitation will be 10:30-11:30 a.m. Thursday at the church. Private family burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church or Hospice Compassus.
