Allen, Jerold Ray
Jerold Ray "Jerry" Allen, age 61 of London Mills, died at 8:55 pm Monday, March 5, 2012 at his home.

He was born on March 6, 1950 in Galesburg, the son of Lyle P. and Roberta Eileen (Cook) Allen. He married KyuCha Lim. He later enjoyed over thirty years with his companion, Patricia Bower, who preceded him in death on September 22, 2009. He was also preceded in death by his father, a brother Rickie Riley, a stepdaughter Bobbi Jo Mitchell and a grandson Dustin Frazier II.

Jerry is survived by his daughter, Cindy (and Patrick Gillen) Burns of Galesburg; two stepsons, Michael Herriford of Galesburg and Gerald (and Kelly) Mitchell of Abingdon; seven grandchildren; his mother and stepfather, Roberta and Rabon Wyatt of London Mills; his siblings, Sharon (and Dan) Boyer of Rapatee, Peg Riley of London Mills, Julie (and Bill) Klapp of Iowa and Joy (and Bruce) Hillery of Galesburg, Bob (and Kathy) Allen of London Mills, Oscar (and Mary Lou) Riley of Galesburg, Terry (and Virginia) Allen of Abingdon and Chris (and Jennifer) Allen of Iowa.

He lived most of his life in London Mills. He attended Spoon River Valley Schools. He served in the Army from 1967 to 1970 and was stationed in Korea. He worked in maintenance for the Village of London Mills and was the Caretaker of East and West Midway Cemeteries near London Mills for over thirty years. He was an avid deer hunter, turkey hunter, fisherman and he enjoyed camping.

Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday, March 9, 2012 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Cremation will be accorded. Private burial of his ashes will be at a later date in East Midway Cemetery.
