Larson, Ruby R.
Ruby R. Larson, 97, of Galesburg, died at 1:53 p.m. Monday, March 19, 2012 in the Knox County Nursing Home.

She was born March 22, 1914 in Cameron, Ill. the daughter of Samuel and Caperna Law Goodsell. She married Harold Johnson on June 26, 1937 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on March 26, 1961. She married John Milton Burchell on October 6, 1962 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on February 4, 1972. She later married Ray W. Larson on May 6, 1977 in Las Vegas. He preceded her in death April 21, 2003.

She is survived by a son, Loren Johnson of Galesburg; daughter-in-law, Debra Johnson of Alexandria, Va. and four grandchildren. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Darwin Johnson on February 2, 2008; a daughter-in-law, Linda Johnson on May 6, 2011; four brothers; and a sister.

Ruby had worked in sales at Northside Bakery, was a waitress, and then at Maytag for 10 years, retiring in 1977. She later worked as a realtor and was part owner of Omni Realty for 15 years. She was also a homemaker. Ruby was born and raised in Cameron. She graduated from Hedgepath School in Surrey and Galesburg High School in 1932. She had lived in Galesburg since 1933.

Ruby was a member of First Lutheran Church. She bowled for many years and was a member of Swedish Svithiod Lodge and O.A.K.S.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Al Beck will officiate. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
