|Edna M. John, 92, of 2345 N. Seminary St. died at 4:09 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2012 in Cottage Hospital.
She was born March 10, 1920 in Ft. Madison, Iowa the daughter of Fritz and Mary Grace Steeple Lock. She married Claude "Babe" John on December 19, 1941 in Canton, Mo. He preceded her in death on April 3, 2010.
She is survived by five sons, Terry (Carole) John of Davidson, N.C., Gary (Trudy) John of Fairfield, Ohio, David (Linda) John of Pekin, Ill., and Chris (Cheryl) John and Mark (Ronda) John, both of Galesburg; one sister, Blanche Roberts of Keokuk, Iowa; 15 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother, Charles Lock and an infant son, Kenneth Paul John.
She was a homemaker. She graduated from Ft. Madison High School in 1938. Edna was a member of the First Christian Church. She enjoyed reading and playing bingo.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. Greg Fitch will officiate. Visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the chapel.
