Harker, Sharon Anne
Sharon Anne Harker, 79, of Kewanee, IL. died peacefully in her home surrounded by family at 2:00 A.M. Friday, March 1, 2013. Sharon was born November 19, 1933 in Danville, Il. the daughter of Delbert Eston and Frances Eliza (Gereau) Trummel. She graduated from Yorkville High School and in 1954 graduated from Copley Hospital School of Nursing.

She met and married Richard F. Harker on August 7, 1955 in Yorkville, IL. He survives along with five sons Andy (Tammy) Harker of Kewanee, Gene (Lynette) Harker of Indianapolis, IN., Paul (Brenda) Harker of Gilbert, AZ., David (Tami) Harker of Kewanee, Larry (Teri) Harker of Lebanon, IN, three daughters Anne (David) Grimm of Annawan, IL., Susan (Steve) Bondurant of Indianapolis, IN and Peggy Harker of Indianapolis, IN.

Grandchildren include Charlie, Erin, Alex, Hayleigh, Joanie, Sharon, David R., Rebeka, Nick, Rachel, Paul Michael, Samantha, Tyler, Kalyn, Isaac, Tori, Garret, Sydney, Madison, Ben, Samuel and Seth, three great grandchildren Zach, Brynn and Nathan. Also surviving is a brother John Trummel of Gillette, Wy., two sisters Mary Jo Gardner of Yorkville and Judy Svoboda of Santa Clara, Ca. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A homemaker, Sharon was a member of the First Christian Church of Kewanee. Sharon loved her Church and church family praying daily for countless people. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. Her hobbies included gardening, sewing, quilting and embroidery, reading and tole painting. Sharon will be remembered by her family and friends for her gentle and compassionate spirit.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Monday, March 4, 2013 at the First Christian Church in Kewanee. Pastor Joseph Schmidt will officiate.

Cremation will follow the services with private family committal at a later date.
Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services on Monday at the Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the First Christian Church Building Fund or the Kewanee Rural Fire Department.
