Taylor, Donna L.
Donna L. (Bryant) Taylor was born December 3, 1931 in Galesburg, Ill., the daughter of Donald R. and Peggy (Thorpe) Bryant.

Donna was educated in Galesburg. After graduation, she attended Brown's Business College in Galesburg. On July 23, 1950 she married James A Taylor Sr. in Galesburg and from that union there are four children.

She was a housewife for 15 years, went back to college and started her career. She was employed by Outboard Marine Corporation (Gale Products) for 20 years. After being laid off, she relocated to Hawthorne, Calif., where she worked for Honeywell, Inc. for five years and Systems Technology, Inc., where she retired in 2005.

She loved spending time with her family and being a homemaker, she loved doing things for her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered for her personality, kindness and generosity to others.

Donna L. Taylor died in Torrance, Calif. on February 21, 2013. She leaves to cherish her memory one son, James A. "Jim" Jr., (Susan) Taylor, Galesburg; three daughters, Peggy M. Grey, Denver, Colo., Lisa K. McClendon, Hawthorne, Calif., and Tamara L. Taylor, Denver, Colo.; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara A Curry (Johnnie), Sycamore, Ill. and Nancy L. Brown (Carnell), Ladson, S.C.; and two brothers, Donald R. Bryant (Joan), Alamogordo, N.M. and Joseph N. Bryant (Teresa), Pasadena, Md. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Jessie Mae Green, October 1999.

Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Israel of God's Church, W.H.A. in Galesburg followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
