Charles L. Abbott, 82 ,of Woodhull, Il, formerly of Terra Haute, IN and Mountain Home Arkansas died Thursday April 8, 2010 in his home.
Graveside services are 2:00 PM Sunday at the Woodhull cemetery. There is no visitation. Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society. Peterson Wallin Knox is in charge of arrangements and online condolences can be made at www.petersonwallinknox.com.
Charles was born August 14, 1927 in Caledonia, MN a son of Charles and Beulah Crogan Abbott. He graduated from Eaton High School in Eaton, CO, attended Rose Holman Institute of Engineering in Terra Haute, IN, and married Lou Tippery August 28, 1948 in New Albin, Iowa. He was of the Christian Faith and enjoyed putting Christ's teaching into action.
Charles was a Maintenance Supervisor working in the Dredging Industry for several years. He retired in 1982 as Maintenance Manager for the Amex Coal Company in Indianapolis. He enjoyed rebuilding houses, journaling, square dancing and was an Harley Davidson enthusiast .
Survivors include his wife, Lou, 3 sons, Chris (Theresa) Abbott of Eldridge, Iowa, Kevin (Marilyn) Abbott of Mesa, AZ , Paul (Sherry) Abbott of Elizabethtown, KY. 4 grandchildren , Megan, Meredith, Joshua and Isaiah, 2 Great Grandchildren, Ava and Molly. His parents preceded him in death. |
