Lambrecht, James Edgar
James Edgar Lambrecht, 68, 326 Westport Road, Galesburg, died at 8:12 a.m. Monday, April 19, 2010 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center.

He was born March 5, 1942 in Manitowoc, Wis., the son of Melvin Edgar and Mary Alice Pinkerton Lambrecht. He married Paula Bledsoe-Schefsky on February 11, 1967 in Galesburg. He later married Diana Hendricks on September 1, 1996 in Galesburg. She survives.

Also surviving are five daughters, Pamela Anderson of Pekin, Ill., Patricia Lambrecht of Galesburg, Tracey (and Kevin) Baughman of Morton, Ill., Kimberly (and Andrew) Weedman of Victoria, Ill., and Erika (and Steven Haley) Grubaugh of Waynesville, Mo., seven grandchildren, A.J. Grainger, Baylea Weedman, Makenna Baughman, Denver Weedman, Trevor Mixon, Emma Mixon, and Lucas Anderson, two brothers, David (and Phyllis) Lambrecht of Ocala, Fla. and Mark (and Linda) Lambrecht of Port St. Lucie, Fla., his in-laws, Bob and Joyce Hendricks of Galesburg, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

James (Mr. Lambrecht) was a teacher for Galesburg Community School District 205 for 37 years, retiring in 2002. He taught at Farnham School, Nielson School, and Lombard Middle School. He was assistant soccer coach at Galesburg High School and basketball coach at Lombard Middle School. He was an avid Galesburg High School girls and boys basketball fan.

He was a 40 year member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, where he served on the education committee and was an elder for 30 years. He also bowled on the church league as well as other leagues at Northgate Lanes. James was a member of the Lake Bracken Country Club, Galesburg Booster Club, National Education Association, and Phi Kappa Tau. He was a fan of the Green Bay Packers, Chicago Cubs, and the Ohio State Buckeyes.

He graduated from Colonel White High School in Dayton, Ohio in 1960 and received his bachelor's degree from Parsons College in 1965. He later earned his master's degree from Western Illinois University in 1973.

Funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday, April 26, 2010 in Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. Rev. Daniel Smith will officiate. Visitation will be 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Burial will be in Warren County Hope Cemetery.
