Terpening, Mary Ann
Mary Ann Terpening,62, of Alexis, died 3:07 A.M. Wed. April 21, 2010 at her home.

She was born July 28, 1947 at Galesburg, the daughter of Harold and Helen (Featherstone) Peterson. She was raised and educated in Galesburg, graduating from Galesburg High School in 1965. She graduated from the Carl Sandburg College School of Cosmetology.

Mary Ann married James Neice in Galesburg on June 19, 1965. She later married Edward Terpening on August 16, 1985 in Alexis and he survives.

She was a hairdresser. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, home decorating, walking and bike riding.

She was a member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church, Alexis and the Warren County YMCA. She was also a member of the Alexis James Harvey Scott American Legion Post #189 Auxiliary.

Her family includes her husband, Edward, three sons, Brett (Billie) Neice and Brian (Bobbie) Neice both of Alexis and Jeffrey (Jennifer) Neice of Alpha, one step-son, Edward D. (Polly) Terpening of Victoria, one step daughter, Michelle Terpening of Knoxville, 3 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, two brothers, Harold (Becky) Peterson of Minier, IL and Dennis Peterson of Galesburg along with nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one son Jason Neice.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, April 24, 2010 at St. Theresa's Catholic Church, Alexis with Fr. Dennis Spohrer celebrating. Cremation will follow the services with a private burial of ashes in Alexis Cemetery at a later date. Friends may call after 3:00 P.M. on Friday, April 23, 2010 at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Alexis where her family will be present from 5:00-7:00 P.M. with a rosary service at 5:00 P.M..
