|Phyllis C. "Coke" Hasley, 74, of Abingdon, died at 6:05 pm Thursday, April 22, 2010 at the University Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa.
She was born on October 13, 1935 in Knoxville to Scott and Alma (Johnson) Soper. She married Marion "Bud" Hasley on June 11, 1955 in Abingdon.
Coke is survived by her husband Marion; two sons, Dave (and Jane) Hasley of Abingdon and Paul (and Mary Jo) Hasley of Galesburg; two daughters, Denise (and Jan) Young of Monmouth and Susan (and Jim) Reffett of Abingdon; one brother, Jack Soper of Galesburg; one sister, Diana Soper in California; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter Jane Marie Hasley and one sister, Norma Stoner.
She graduated from St. Angela's Academy in Morris IL. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was the caretaker at the church for many years. She was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and was also a Eucharistic minister.
Her hobbies included being a St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan, playing Bingo, and watching her grandkids play sports. Coke also took pride in being available to take her friends and neighbors to Dr. Appointments and other places of need.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Abingdon. Rev. Francis Oman IC and Rev. William Miller IC will officiate. Burial will be in the Abingdon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:30 pm Monday at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel with the praying of the Rosary at 7:30 pm.
