Varnold, Ellouise L.
Ellouise L. Varnold, age 92, of Maquon, Illinois, died on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at 10:03 P.M. at the Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville, Illinois.

She was born on January 10, 1918 in Bardolph, Illinois, the daughter of Harry and Eileen Wyman Conner.

She married Burl "Doc" Varnold on October 14, 1943 in Nashua, Iowa.

Surviving are:

Three Sons: Dr. Marty (Nancy) Varnold of Woodstown, New Jersey

Richard "Rick" (Pat) Varnold of Wataga, Illinois

Charles (Jerri) Varnold of Peoria, Illinois

Six Grandchildren and One Great Grandson

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers.

She was a 1936 graduate of Galesburg High School and was a self-employed public accountant since 1940.

She was a member of the Maquon United Methodist Church and taught in the Sunday School Nursery Class for over 40 years.

She served as Director and Treasurer of the former RMG Ambulance Service in Maquon, Illinois since 1974 and served as an EMT for 4 years.

She served as Director and Treasurer from 1968 to June 1997 of the Maquon Public Library District.

She was also active in the Maquon Fire Protection District, Maquon Homecoming and Knox County Scenic Drive fund raising work.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 26, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the Maquon United Methodist Church in Maquon, Illinois.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 25, 2010 from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. at the Maquon United Methodist Church in Maquon, Illinois.

Private Graveside Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2010 in Bardolph Cemetery in Bardolph, Illinois.

Memorials may be made to the Maquon United Methodist Church or its Sunday School.
