Bengtson, Darlene
Darlene Bengtson age 76 of 1009 Northwood Dr. Lake Bracken Galesburg, Il. died at 8:02 PM Saturday April 24, 2010 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center Peoria, Il.

She was born May 7, 1933 in Quincy, Il. the daughter of Fred and Adrain Rowley Worman. She married Roy Everett Secrest, he preceded her in death in 1982 and later married Pastor Jan Bengtson January 7, 1984 in Quincy, Il.

Darlene is survived by her husband Jan, mother Adrain Johnson of Mendon, Il., one son Steven Roy and Christie Lee Secrest of Sumter, S.C. two step daughters Kristin Ann and John Hawkins of Quincy, Il., Sarah Ruth and Rick Martin of St. Helen, Or., one brother Larry Worman of Tucson, Az., two sisters Delores Kendrick of Mendon, Il., Jackie Summy of Chestfield, Mo., eight grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren including one grandson Chad Secrest.

She was preceded in death by one brother Robert Worman and one granddaughter Heather Ragon Dollar.

She worked for Motorola and was a realtor in Quincy, Il.. She also repaired and restored stain glass in many area churches. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church.

Darlene was a supportive wife during many of Jan's pastorates including Luther Memorial in Quincy, St. Mark Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau, Faith Lutheran Church in Wataga, Messiah Lutheran Church in Henderson Grove, and Zion Lutheran Church in N. Henderson, Il. She also continued to repair and restore stained glass in those churches.

Funeral services will be at 11 AM Wednesday April 28, 2010 at the First Lutheran Church in Galesburg with visitation from 9:30-11:00 at the church. Rev. Paul Johnson will officiate. Burial will be at 3 PM at Mendon Cemetery Mendon, Il.

Memorials may be made to the First Lutheran Church Galesburg, Zion Lutheran Church N. Henderson, or Salem Lutheran Church in Mendon, Il. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
