Stewart, Larry C.
Larry C. Stewart, age 67, of rural Altona, Illinois passed from this life on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 4:35 P.M. at his residence in rural Altona, Illinois.

He was born on May 8, 1942 in Galesburg, Illinois, the son of Clem R. and Florence M. Josephson Stewart. He married Rebecca J. Dennis on April 26, 1969 in Wataga, Illinois.

Surviving are three daughters: Mindy (Aaron) Murray of Alexis, Illinois, Monica (John) Jacobs of Pekin, Illinois and Keely (Jeremy) Dines of Catlin, Illinois

Nine Grandchildren: Boston, Chloe, Cael, Addison, Ethan, Caden, Reese, Jackson, and Jeffrey.

His parents and two brothers, Delmar and Dale, preceded him in death.

He was reared and educated in Altona and at the age of 15, he took over the family farm and farmed for over 55 years.

He was a member of a Singles Group and the Knox County Farm Bureau. He could always be found working on his cars or tractors. He also enjoyed dancing and listening to local bands. He was an avid wrestling fan of his grandson, Boston, and never missed a meet. He had a great love for his grandchildren; who lovingly referred to him as "Grandpa Spike." He also had many friends that he spent his time with and cared for dearly. He loved his dog, Daisy. Larry was well known for his contagious laugh and smile. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 29, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory in Oneida, Illinois with visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M.

Rev. Don Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in the Oneida Cemetery in Oneida, Illinois.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Pekin Wrestling Booster Club or to the family.
