Owens, Angeline A.
Angeline A. (Lamberti) Owens passed away on April 21, 2010. She was a former Abingdon, Illinois resident born to James and Mary (Fava) Lamberti on April 3, 1916.

She attended schools in Abingdon and was a graduate of Abingdon High School class of 1935.

She married Robert Gordon Owens on January 1, 1938 at the All Souls Catholic Church in Abingdon.

She worked as a clerk in her parents' grocery store. During the time her husband was serving in the Army Air Force, she was a homemaker and Red Cross Volunteer. After World War II, she was co-owner and clerk at Lamberti's Super Market. After selling the Super Market in 1969, she and her husband moved to Santa Paula, California. She was employed there at a Grant and Rasco Department Store, Santa Paula Newsstand and 10 years at the Fiesta Hallmark Card Store. After she and her husband retired in 1989, they moved to Davenport, Iowa. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Bettendorf, Iowa. She was a past member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Abingdon Fire Protection District and was a charter member of the Abingdon Historical Society.

Succeeding her in death was a brother, Alfred Lamberti and two sisters, Reparata (Repa) Peluso and Edith Ezzo.

Survivors are her husband of 72 years, Robert; one daughter, Jean (and James) Hatadis of Placerville, California; one son, James (aand Alicia) Owens of Bettendorf, Iowa; two granddaughters, Jill Weitz of California and Cathy Owens of Bettendorf, Iowa; two grandsons, Justin Weitz of El Dorado, California and Michael Owens of Bettendorf, Iowa; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews and one sister in-law, Marie Lamberti of Sun City, Arizona.

Graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, April 29, 2010 at the Abingdon Cemetery. Father William Miller will officiate. There will be no visitation.
