Masterson, Jack
Jack S. Masterson, 83, of Galesburg Ill died at 12:30 pm Monday, April 4, 2011 in Marigold Health Care Center.

He was born October 2, 1926 in Galesburg the son of Vernon and Ethel Stewart Masterson. He married June Gavillet in Galesburg on February 19, 1950. She survives.

Also surviving is a son Jack L. Masterson and a daughter Peggy Sue Masterson both of Galesburg. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister.

He served in the US Army from 1945-1946 during World War II stationed in Philippines.

Jack worked for Witherbees Sporting Good/Gale Ward Sporting Goods for 35 years. He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1944. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post #2257 and Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285. Jack enjoyed fishing.

Graveside services are scheduled for 1 pm Thursday in Memorial Park Cemetery with Military Rites by Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285. Rev. James Ecklund will officiate. Visitation will be 12:00-1:00 pm Thursday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
