Malcolm, Terry A.
Terry A. Malcolm, 67, of Alexis, IL, died at 9:22 A.M. Friday, April 22, 2011 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg.

Terry was born Feb. 28, 1944 in Galesburg, the son of Dale Roy and Clarine (Hasselquist) Malcolm. After his father was killed in action during World War II, his stepfather and mother, Frank and Clarine Finch, raised Terry. Terry was educated in Galesburg, graduating from Galesburg High School in 1962.

He served with the United States Army from 1968-1970.

Terry married Judy Agan Arnold in Alexis, IL. on July 9, 1977 and she survives.

Terry worked at the Gates Rubber Company in Galesburg for over 40 years. He later worked as a custodian for the United School District. He was an outdoorsman, hunter, fisherman, gardener, enjoyed hiking and collecting vintage fishing lures. His true enjoyment came from being with family and especially his grandchildren.

He was a member of the Village Baptist Church in Alexis.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Malcolm of Alexis; sons, Dale R. (Kathleen Broderick) Malcolm II of Omaha, NE and Aaron L. (Brandee) Malcolm of Rio, IL; stepchildren, Brian (Tiffany) Arnold of Ballwin, MO and Jill M. (Faron) Wallace of Knoxville, IL; 13 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter; 1 brother, Jeff (Kathy) Finch; 2 sisters, Sandra (Art) St. George and Rebecca (Bernard) Swanson all of Galesburg; 1 aunt, Faye Wedell of East Galesburg; several nieces and nephews.

Both his fathers and mother preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at the Village Baptist Church in Alexis with Rev. Terry Johnston officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Alexis Cemetery. Friends may call after 3:00 P.M. Monday, April 25, 2011 at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Alexis where his family will be present from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Memorials may be given to the Veterans Hospital & Clinics in Iowa City, IA or the MDA-ALS Division. Online condolences may be left at hooverhall.com.
