Snyder, Lola E.
Lola E. Snyder, 96, of Galesburg, died 4:45 a.m. Easter morning at Rosewood Care Center, Galesburg.

She was born May 24, 1914 in New Holstein, WI, the oldest of 7 children born to Henry and Katherine (Mahlberg) Mauer. Lola married Robert J. Snyder May 5, 1945 in Milwaukee, WI. He preceded her in death in 1973.

Lola is survived by 2 sons, John (Karren) of OFallon, MO and William (Terri) of Arvada, CO; 1 daughter, Pat (Jim) Lee of Galesburg; 7 grandchildren, Beth Fajt of Greencastle, IN, Ted Lee of Rio, Susan Lee of Galesburg, Erich Snyder of OFallon, MO, Ryan Snyder of Tulsa, OK, Laura and Kathryn Snyder, of Arvada, CO; and 8 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Elroy (Jean) Mauer; 2 sisters, Germaine Steiner, and Joan (Robert) Feuerstein; and a sister-in-law, Marion Mauer all of New Holstein, WI. also 15 nieces and nephews. 3 brothers; James, Robert, and Joseph (infant) preceded Lola in death

Prior to moving to Galesburg, Lola lived in Macomb where she was in charge of the dining room at the Everly House for 20 years. She was an active member at St. Pauls Catholic Church. Upon moving to Galesburg in 1996, Lola joined Corpus Christi Catholic Church. She was a member of the National Forresters Society, was interested in world events, the weather, and sports. She was a lifelong Green Bay Packer fan. Her greatest joys in life came from being a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

Per her wishes cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial mass and visitation will be held at a later date. Burial of ashes will be in Pennington Point Cemetery in rural Macomb. Memorials may be made to Safe Harbor.
