|Harold L. Schllutow, age 78, of Knoxville, Illinois, died at 3:45 P.M. on Thursday, April 21, 2011 at his residence. He was born on July 30, 1932 in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Elmer and Cynthia Wendemuth Schlutow.
Surviving are one daughter, Cynthia (Jon) Pomranz of Chesterfield, Missouri; two sons, Scott (Blanca) Schlutow of Chicago, Illinois and Christopher Schlutow of St. Louis, Missouri; four grandchildren, Nicole Zabel, Steven Schlutow, Courtney Andel and Ashley Jones and two great grandchildren, Avah Jones and William Maune. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother: Elmer Schlutow, Jr.
He graduated from Cleveland High School in St. Louis, Missouri. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked as a store manager for Sears for 35 years, last working in Galesburg, Illinois where he retired. He was a member of the Webster Groves Masonic Lodge # 84, AF & AM of Webster Groves, Missouri; Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge # 2079 of Greenwood, Indiana and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 2257 of Galesburg, Illinois.
Cremation Rites will be accorded.
Inurnment in Mt. Hope Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri at a later date. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Hurd Hendricks Funeral Home and Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois in charge of arrangements.
