James R. Empson, age 58, of St. Petersburg, Florida formerly of Altona, Illinois died on Monday, April 2, 2012 at Northside Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida.
He was born on October 23, 1953 in Kewanee, Illinois the son of Burton E. "Burt" and Eleanor Talbert Empson. He was raised and educated in Altona, Illinois graduating from ROVA High School, where is excelled in Track and Academics. He received his Masters Degree in Science and earned his Pharmaceutical License. He worked in Chicago for Osco and CVS as a Pharmacist and retiring in 2010 to St. Petersburg, Florida.
Surviving is his mother Eleanor Empson of Galesburg, Illinois.
Also surviving are three sisters: Amy Cantwell of Maui, Hawaii, Teresa (Keith) Fell of Oneida, Illinois and Kelly Empson of Silvis, Illinois. Two brothers: Daniel Empson of Altona, Illinois and Andrew (Toni) Empson. Many nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, one brother, Casey and his beloved dog "Buster."
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Altona, Illinois, Rev. Tim Anderson Officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 until time of services of Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at the Church. Memorials may be made to Prairieland Animal Welfare Center of Galesburg, Illinois.
